Cut Away Collage

A fun, easy, class for all sewing levels. You will sandwich your fabrics together, sew and trim during class. A practice piece will provide to lean trimming technique. We will discuss various projects that lend themselves to this technique.

Supplies:

3-4 fat quarters (Cotton and Batiks work well)

Mix and match your colors and patterns of fabric one must be solid.

Learn to Weave

Weaving is the combination of threads going vertically, with threads going horizontally, over and under, over and under continually. In this class we will experiment with different widths of strips as we weave your scraps into a new piece of fabric that will be full of color, texture and patterns.

Supplies:

20 inch square Fusible Fleece

Strips of scraps various sizes. You can always sew them together to make the scraps long enough. Pre-cut 20 inches long

Precut widths being 10 strips 1/2 inches wide, 10 strips 1 inch wide, 5 strips 1 1/2 wide, 5 strips 2 inches wide. All will equal 30strips going vertical.

Ribbons Abound is constructed with twenty-five 12” or 16” blocks. This quilt comes in two sizes 60” x 60” or 80” x 80”

This quilt could be considered a skill builder as the majority of the piecing utilizes half square triangle (HST) blocks made eight-at-a-time. Eight-at-a-time HST block instructions are included in the pattern.

She will be teaching you 4 basic stitches.
