The Park Fire started on August 7, 2024, in Upper Park Road in Upper Bidwell Park East of Chico. It affected 4 counties in northern California and destroyed 430,000 acres of land. The counties affected were Butte, Plumas, Shasta and Tehama. The firefighters did an amazing job not only saving lives but saving homes and communities. There were only 637 structures destroyed and 49 damaged and no fatalities in this fire.

Our goal is to donate not only 1 quilt to each fire survivor but also to each of the more than 5000 firefighters that showed up and helped save the many communities affected by this enormous fire. This project is particularly special to us due to losing our home in the 2018 Campfire in Paradise California.
